I can’t help but love this song by Lady Day.
Billie Holiday (1915 – 1959) was a true artist of her day. Her soulful, unique singing voice and her ability to boldly turn any material that she confronted into her own music made her a superstar of her time.

Nicknamed Lady Day by her loyal friend and musical partner Lester Young, Holiday was a seminal influence on jazz and pop singing.
Her vocal style, strongly inspired by jazz instrumentalists, pioneered a new way of manipulating phrasing and tempo.
Above all, she was admired for her deeply personal and intimate approach to singing.
timeless..
“If I have to sing like somebody else, then I don’t need to sing at all”
